Him: Anxiously waiting and adorably nervous. He gets teary eyed when he sees me, finally in my dress, for the first time in 24 hours. He looks stunning in a Rajo creation and the nerves evaporate. He settles for excitement as he thinks it’s the happiest day of his life. He’s keen to meet me halfway but he stops himself and waits. He goes for cool, calm and collected. He catches my eye and I remember everything I love about him: He’s flawed in ways but perfectly The Right One.

The Right One loves flying and being up in the air. He says it’s calming to see the world from afar – you get the bigger picture, you appreciate things better. He plans a surprise romantic date on 25 April (when it’s not too hot, nor too cold and all I’ll need is a light jacket) kicking off with a nice picnic on the beach. After finishing a bottle of white he tells me he’s hired a balloon to take us up in the air for a few minutes. He says he wants me to see what he sees. I tell him that I’m scared of heights and though his face visibly drops a little, he immediately regains his cool and tells me it’s alright. He asks the balloon handler to just go on his own. The man scratches his head, thinking what fools we are for missing such opportunity. We watch the man and the balloon fly above the shore, shrinking into the sunset. He tells me how beautiful it really is when you’re up there and that he wishes he could one day persuade me to come with. I close my eyes and rest my head on his shoulders. That moment, I’m already flying.

When I ask for time out he’ll let me take my time, but not too long to keep him in the dark. And if I do get stuck, he’ll come to me to shed some light.

When I ask for some space he’ll let me be, but he won’t give me too much space for me to forget he’s there or lose my way. And if I do get lost, he’ll come find me and lead me back to where I should be.

The Right One will impress. And I will be in love.

I’m wondering if he’s The Right One.

There’s someone you want to take care of. One you think you can change for the better. One who makes you feel good about yourself because you know you can make the person happy.

And then there’s another one who wants to take care of you. One who can change you for the better. One who makes you feel good about yourself because you know the person can make you happy.

Who’s The Right One?

The Right One will not rush into things, but knows the right time to ask, and will ask in a way that I will surely say yes. He knows I am not all about tradition, but that I will appreciate something that will remind me his love for me is different, that it will make me feel secure for the rest of my life.

The Right One and I don’t do greeting cards. Instead, we pick up children’s books for each other, just because. In children’s books, a few simple words give off a whole new world of meaning. Children’s books were our introduction to eloquence.
